A
workshop in creative painting with 'The Horse'
as the theme was organised at the Young
Envoys International, rural art centre for children.
About 75 children from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy
districts participated in the event and produced
over 150 paintings and graphic works.
Of these, a set of 54 paintings and graphics was
selected and sent to the sixth International
Art Concourse organised by the Likovni Svet,
The World of Art, Slovenia. Over 9,000 children
from 26 countries sent their works to this international
competition. Experts from Croatia, Yugoslavia,
Slovenia and a representative from UNICEF
formed the jury, which selected the Young Envoys
International as the best group for the year 2000
and presented the Golden Horse award.
Designed by Slovenian artist Oskar Koz, the award
was presented on behalf of the UNICEF (Slovenia)
and received by Indian ambassador at Belgrade.

Best Realistic Representative works in the exhibition.
The workshop was sponsored by the Department
of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development
and organised by eminent artist, BA Reddy. |
