All
the exhibitions held at Shilparamam till today
received great applause from the crafttlovers all over
the nation. Likewise, the recently concluded crafts exhibition
cum sale too turned out as a big success and provided
an ample chance to the people of the twin cities to take
home their beloved crafts and toys.
The
articles that were displayed in the exhibition were artistic
metalware, bidri, stone carvings, terracota pottery, embroidery,
traditional brass vessels, Zari Sarees, wooden
toys, wooden goods, leather goods, agate jewellery, carpets,
miniature paintings, bamboo carvings, Kondapalli toys
and much more.
"Hyderabadis
love to shop at craft exhibitions. They always look for
new things and their taste changes from time to time.
That's why we are able to make profits here every time,"
said Riyaz, who displayed all kinds of wood
carved toys and household products in the exhibition.
"Business is always there. Apart from that putting
up a stall at Shilparamam itself gives us more satisfaction,"
said Suneel Hiwarkar. Hiwarkar's stall with
exclusive bamboo carvings allured the crowd. Bamboo photoframes,
paintings, bed lamp stands, wall clocks were some of them.
Once
again it was the Kondapalli toys' stall that caught every
one's eye and captivated almost all the hearts. Mr. Sridhar
Nagoti, a native of Vijayawada and expert in
making Kondapalli toys created wide range of special toys
exclusively for this exhibition. "Apart from the
regular and traditional Kondapalli toys, I also experiment
and create new type of carvings in the Kondapalli style,
he said. "Last year, when I came here to display
my works in an exhibition, I did the miniature structure
of A.P legislative assembly building for which, I was
complimented by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
This time I am planning to mould the IT hub of A.P, HITEC
city and present it to the chief minister, Sridhar
said. "The toys are wonderful and the feel of
village nativity is reflecting more in them,"
Nivedita Modi, a photographer from Mumbai
said.
Although there were less number of stalls this time, the
shopping resulted in a memorable experience to one and
all. |
