 He
was the first person who procured and sold a Mercedes
Benz 250D in 1986, ten years before it was officially
launched in India, and he was also the first person
who brought the first Maruti Car to Hyderabad,
when it was launched. You give him the model and
make of the car, Indian or imported, he will deliver
it at your doorstep with in days. He is Syed
Mehaboob Hussain Rashid of Hussain Enterprises,
the oldest auto consultant of the Twin Cities.
Born in a jagirdar family Hussain was very much
fond of automobiles right from his childhood. His
father, Late Syed Tajammul Hussain, was Commanding
Officer of theNizam's army in Gulbarga of
the erstwhile Hyderabad state..
 At
13, when circumstances compelled him to earn his
own money, Hussain translated his interest in automobiles
in to business. " I started as a commission agent
in 1963. Then, I used to collect Rs 100 for each
transaction. When I got enough money to buy vehicles
on my own I started trading," he explains his
initial hardships. His enthusiasm in automobiles
not only fed his family but also realised his dreams.
As an auto consultant he bought and sold all varieties
of Indian and foreign cars. This gave him ample
knowledge of technical and other aspects of cars.
And now he can advise you on the car best suited
to fulfil your needs and your purse. Now his clientele
includes the movers and shakers of Hyderabad and
Secunderabad and all parts of the country.
Apart from automobile consultancy, Hussain tried
and registered success in the fast track profit
making real estate and construction business with
the help of Late Babu Khan's family. It is
interesting to know that Pigah Plaza at Basheer
Bagh, city's first multi storyed complex with
a cellar, was the first venture of Hussain. Recently
he opened Unique Car Accessories on the
Minister Road for his elder son. He believes
that the year 2000 is not lucky for him. so he has
shelved all his future plans, which include a commercial
cum residential venture on Gandipet road.
Hussain considers American cars the most
comfortable ones in the world. But now a days he
is comfortable with a 1964 model Fiat for
his city drive. Ofcourse he loves his old car because
it has stood first in the vintage car rally organised
by Tourism Department of Andhra Pradesh
in the late 1970s.
