MERCEDES-BENZ
C-CLASS |
The
Mercedes-Benz is an acknowledged car world-wide
does need not require reiteration. It has certainly
carved a niche for itself in the automobile world.
It's charisma, power and style are surely unsurpassable.
Mercedes-Benz India Limited (MBIL) launched
the new C-class in India in the first week
of May, 2001. Fortunately, Hyderabad, the most happening
city of India in these days was the venue for the
launch. The launching ceremony was conducted at
Hotel Taj Krishna with a glittering fashion
show by style guru Prasad Bidappa.
The
new model C-class is in tune with the times and
specially made for the young. “Proven and new
Mercedes core values makes the new C class the most
attractive proposition in this market segment,”
said Mr. Pramod Galada, of the Adiswhar Auto
Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd, the sole dealer for the
Andhra Pradesh for Mercedes-Benz. “The sedan
is a youthful, progressive car that is characterized
by, its dynamic styling, the new powerful engine
and the sporty chassis are all important details
that are united in a single aim of providing maximum
driving pleasure,” added Mr. Galada.
Even
at the first glance, the attractive design, with
its modern interpretation of the twin headlamp face,
expresses two of the key features of the new C class
- dynamism and elegance. These dynamic features
are combined in the new C class with traditional
Mercedes qualities such as the maximum possible
safety, top quality, exemplary comfort and superb
reliability. "The new C class has more than
20 new features over E class and S class and strives
to ensure that the driver remains in full control
at all times. The six extra airbags on the wind
shields, a high-strength passenger safety cell,
crumple zones and high strength sheet metal all
provide you maximum safety," pointed Mr.
Galada.
Mercedes
stands for individuality. Whilst designing the new
C class, ‘individuality’ is not forgotten, since
Mercedes customers have many ways of giving “their”
C class a highly personal character. Two distinctive
design and equipment lines provide an answer to
the modern demand for individuality. While ‘Classic’
line is an introductory model for price sensitive
groups and to attract younger customers, the ‘Elegance’
line is for individualist and traditional Mercedes-Benz
customers with a greater focus for representation.
The new C class is offered with two engines C
180 petrol version and C 200 CDI diesel version.
The ex-showroom price in Hyderabad for introductory
model C 180, Classic Line, will be Rs.20.80 lakhs.
On the other hand the Elegance line C 180 costs
you about Rs. 22.56 lakhs.
The
new C class too will be produced at Mercedes-Benz
India’s state –of-art factory in Pune where
already the E and S class cars are produced. With
the C class launch, Mercedes-Benz India is present
with a highly attractive product portfolio of S,
E and C class and is prepared to offer the widest
choice for its customers in the luxury segments
between Rs.20 and 60 lakhs. By launching the new
C class, MBIL has lived up with its promise to make
the latest technology available to the Indian customers
and at the same time, it also reflects the long
term commitment of its parent company, DaimlerChrysler
AG has for the Indian market.
