GALS GO GA GA OVER ANJU'S COLLECTION
Collection targetted at youthThe exclusive trousseau collection of the well known fashion designer Anju Modi displayed recently at 'Also' boutique, Begumpet offered excellent opportunity to Hyderabadis to make a choice of their favourite wear. The collection included an array of trendy models, which hyderabadi gals were waiting since from a long time. Her spring collection displayed has Lurex woven with natural fibre specially developed at Chanderi village, dresses that can be draped in more ways than the traditional sari, work clothes that double up for evening wear and trendy combinations of Indian and International silhouettes.

Dress material in different coloursAs a proficient fashion designer, Anju Modi translates all her dreams into reality and creates designs with diverse fabrics and hues. Enlivened with meticulous embroidery, her collection is always a fantasy. "Fashion is an important facet of life and is a positive expression of one's style. So, I feel that it is the time to design this kind of collection which is targetted at crazy youngsters," said Anju. The collection is also aimed at rejuvenating ideas from the traditional style of designing to suit the contemporary Indian women. The colours ranging from cement greys to fuschia pinks, orange, lemon yellows, gheru, prune and all-time favourites of the brides-burgundy reds and wines were displayed to catch the eye.

Trendy and traditional wearApart from the traditional zardozi designs, her ensembles this year have been embellished with crystals and tikki work. The silhouettes on display were mainly short kurtas teamed with pants, ghagras and saris in Chanderi and Kota weaves. Says Anju Modi "my clothes have a soul which highlight both the beauty of the craft and the personality of the wearer giving a softer feminine look to the bride with minimalistic approach". The recent exhibition is the second show for Anju Modi in Hyderabad, who is owning a fashion boutique in New Delhi. "My two shows received tremendous response. This is because the people of Hyderabad are well aware of fashion and always appreciate creativity," Anju said. While the earlier exhibition showcased drape-oriented ensembles consisting of basic inner that can be complimented with a variety of outer drapes and jackets, the latest one comprised her Pretty collection with the use of Chanderi cottons woven into silhouettes with narrow trousers, including summer jackets that can easily transform office-wear into evening wear.

Anju Modi's bridal collection for this season, designed in a way to give the traditional look in contemporary style caught the attention of fashion savvy hyderabadis. These designs were aimed at giving bride a whole look not overly ornate but simple and mysterious look. Pink, Silver, Golden colours are subdued and even the intricate embroidery is hidden behind a layer of sheer.
