If
you had been to Guffa, the trendy restaurant
in the twin cities with its cave ambience, you might
have felt delighted with the food as well as the
lighting. Well, the special lighting equipment like
torches were provided by Shobha Lighting, but the
spot lights were supplied by Fortune Art,
a subsidiary of Electrical Lines, a leading
trading house of electrical products in Hyderabad
and Secunderabad.
Fortune
Art is the first of its kind showroom in the country,
which showcases only imported lighting equipment.
As you enter the showroom situated near Ranigunj
railway bridge, you will find a spectacular
range of the world's latest and exclusive imported
luminaries including Chandeliers, Wall brackets,
high energy saving industrial lighting, and a wide
range of Handcrafted Designer Vases, with
a price tag of Rs. 500 to Rs. 5000 and above. And
on turning to your right, you will find the whole
range of lighting products like spot lights,
reading lamps, designer wall lamps, wall brackets,
and hand made wood finished luminaries. All
these imported products are not only attractive
but also help you to cut your hefty electricity
bills.
"The imported luminaries don't have brand
names. So we created a brand name called 'Fortune
Art', exclusively for the marketing of the imported
luminaries," said Nitin H. Mehta, Vice
President, Marketing of Electrical Lines.
Apart
from the designer luminaries, at Fortune Art , you
will find an unique product, the energy saving
fluorescent tube. "The normal tube light,
which we generally use consumes 50 watts of electricity.
But the energy saving tube light available with
us consumes only 30 watts and saves 40% energy.
Moreover, the lifetime of the energy saving tube
is two and half times more than the normal tube
light," said Mr. Mehta. This energy saving
tube light costs you Rs. 700 and comes with a one
year warranty. The remote controlled Pedestal Fan
is another innovative product introduced by Fortune
Art. Priced at Rs. 2500, this light weight fan has
an attractive aesthetic appeal with multiple functions.
"The unique feature of the fan is that it
can be used as a pedestal fan as well as a table
fan by detaching it from the pedestal,"
pointed Mr. Mehta.
"We
have the import license for the electrical goods
and directly import all these products from various
countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore,
etc. Every fortnight our representatives visit
the foreign countries to select suitable products
for Indian usage and we import them directly,"
explained Mr. Mehta
The showroom was opened on March 26, 2001. Since
then it attracted a large number of high profile
customers like cine actor Venkatesh, Ramprasad
Reddy, M.D., Aurobindo Pharma, MD of Prasad Laboratories.
"Our flagship company Electrical Lines has
been supplying electrical goods to several business
groups like Taj Hotels, Wilco, Dr. Reddy Labs.
All the old customers are very impressed with
our Fortune Art collection," said Mr. Mehta.
Fortune Art is planning to widen its range by importing
crystal chandeliers, best quality Compact Fluorescent
Tubes (CFT), premium industrial light fittings and
furniture.
