It's summer time. Exams are starting and
in a few daystime they will be over.
Its freedom from the burden of studies and it's the
time to enjoy and relax. So what are you planning for
this summer? Just sitting in home and watching TV or
thinking about taking a break from the hullabaloo of
city life. Well, for those folks who are interested
in acting, there is an ideal opportunity to sharpen
your acting skills.
Expressions, a well know theatre group of Hyderabad
run by Arvind Mittal, is conducting a Theatre
Workshop for children aged between 6 and 14 years. Starting
from April 15th, the Theatre Workshop will bring into
focus the various aspects of acting like throwing of
voice, making use of space, making use of objects, dual
acting, miming, script reading, make-up and grooming,
etc. "Acting needs little bit of training as well
as some practice. Even while you whisper, you need to
show your expressions clearly. This theatre workshop
will concentrate on the finer aspects of acting and
groom the individual perfectly," says Arvind Mittal,
Director of the workshop, throwing some light on it.
At the end of the 45 days, all the participants will
stage a play and exhibit their acting talents.
The
theatre group which was started in 1989 has staged numerous
plays in English. Some of the notable plays of the group
include Neil Simon's 'The Star Spangled Girl', 'Seduction',
'The Good Doctor', AA Milne's 'The Man in the Bowler
Hat', Anton Chekov's 'The Bear', Woody Allen's 'God'
and Arvind Mittal's 'Jimkaladi'. There were only fifteen
members in the group when it was started in 1989, but
now it has 40 members hailing from different backgrounds
and committed to promote theatre in the city.
