| ANNAPURNA
STUDIOS |
The
doyen of the Telugu film industry, Sri Akkineni Nageshwara
Rao has enjoyed an amazing career spanning over six decades.
He was responsible for bringing the entire Telugu film
world to Hyderabad from its earlier base in Chennai.The
first Telugu film star to settle down in Hyderabad, he
inspired many more to follow suit. His Annapurna Studios, named after his wife, has been one of the earliest
film studios to cater to the needs of the film industry
Situated in a posh area of the twin cities on a sprawling
22-acre plot, it is a venture dedicated to the art of
filmmaking. The studio has an ambience that every filmmaker
dreams of! Beautifully landscaped outdoors, eight floors,
ready-made sets, thematic locations and a seven acre
outdoor set are available for film shooting.
Punctuality and time management are given first priority
here. Shooting schedules start on time and are completed
without unnecessary disruptions. One can also save on
exorbitant costs of shooting as the infrastructure available
here is the most reasonable in the industry.
Annapurna
Studios has been thelaunching pad for many actors,
directors and other film personalities. The studio is
managed by Venkat Akkineni, who has developed the studio
into the best one around. Today, the name of Annapurna
is synonymous with dedicated filmmaking.

STUDIOS |
The lights are on, the stage is set, the director screams
action, and so Padmalaya continues its action
- as one of the top entertainment banners in Indian
showbiz.
Founded by Krishna, the legendary Telugu filmstar, Padmalaya has been around for over three decades.
Today, it is a conglomerate of Padmalaya Studios and Padmalaya Telefilms Ltd.
Between
the two, Padmalaya has produced, distributed
and exhibited a large number of motion pictures, feature
films and telefilms. In fact, it has produced the largest
number of motion pictures in India. The studio has many
a 'firsts' to its credit. It was the first studio to
introduce cinemascope format in Telugu films and was
also the first to produce a 70 mm format motion picture
in South India.
Its repertoire of motion pictures include popular box
office hits such as Himmatwala, Sooryavamsham, etc. Padmalaya claims to own a library of 80 feature
films, satellite rights for 300 films, and video/audio
rights for 80 films. It has a state-of-the-art studio
equipped with digital audio and video editing suites
and multi-camera production units. With multimedia gaining
ground, the studio is currently in the process of setting
up Asia's largest 2D/3D animation studio. It also plans
to get into the infotainment portal business.
Apart
from being the launching pad for several aspiring actors
and actresses, Padmalaya has managed the careers
of celebrities such as its own founder Mr Krishna and
the current teenage heart throb Mahesh.
Padmalaya is the Sanskrit word for Goddess Lakshmi,
the Hindu Goddess of wealth. And that's precisely what
the Padmalaya Studio is - an invaluable asset
to the film world.

FILM CITY |
The Ramoji Film City is a standing testimony to one
man's entrepreneurial ability. Named after Ramoji Rao,
this city, surrounded by hillocks, is built on 2000 acres
of land. The tiny citadel provides a perfect setting for
a weekend outing.
Ramoji Film City has opened itself up to tourism
in a big way. A large theme area depicting varied cultures
has been set up. This area also has restaurants and
shopping areas. Both audio and video studios are well-equipped
with state-of-the-art equipment.
With Persian boulevards, lavish palaces, rural fields
and villages, make-believe airports / railway stations
and a host of other settings, this place is like a fantasyland.
An added attraction is the possibility of seeing your
favourite film or TV star.
