  MIKA 'BRANDY' CHADI CHADI
Gurusewak Mann enthralling the crowdOye…. balle balle its Baisakhi time putthar! And do you know how did the Hyderabadi Punjabis celebrate Baisakhi, other than visiting the Gurudwara? Well, this Baisakhi was a special one. The Punjabis of twin cites were treated to a scintillating Bhangra music from top bhangra pop singers Gurusewak Mann and Mika Singh.

The musical extravaganza organized in Lalitha Kala Thoranam was an exhilarating experience for the audience mostly consisting of Punjabis of Hyderabad. The audience celebrated this year's harvest festival with much fun and fanfare. When OCP (Out of Control Punjabis) gang led by its gang leader Mika Singh was singing, there was no end to their joy. Even the person who doesn't know much dance could not stop gyrating himself. Everything was happening automatically. Songs from Mika Singh and dance from the audience happened instantly.

Dancing 'hungama' near the stageAfter a not so good performance from 'Lara Lappa' man Gurusewak Mann, the entire venue sprang to life as soon as Mika, the brother of Daler Mehndi marched onto the dais. He started with one of his favourite number sawan mein lag gayi aag---- then soon rendered his popular song ishq brandy chadi chadi. Perhaps, the brandy from Mika seems to have flowed into the audience. And do you know who was the one leading from the front? It's our own DIG (Home Guards) Tejdeep Singh. Known for her active social life, Tejdeep goaded the audience to come near the stage. And boy! With in minutes the audience went out of control and the whole stage was flooded with people dancing and singing with 'Out of Control Punjabis' gang.

Punjabi putthar-Gurusewak Mann That's the power of Mika Singh. He has that unique style which can make anyone animated suddenly. Although Mika's voice was not as robust as we were used to hearing in Punjabi-folk numbers so far. But Mika has an electric touch to his voice that looks different from other singers of his genre. Short and stout Mika sings, dances and makes everyone dance with him.

Gurusewak Mann on the other hand looked like a traditional Punjabi folk singer. The brother of Harbhajan Mann, educated in Canada and a pilot by profession, Gurusewak Mann's songs often have a blend of traditional and modern music with meaningful lyrics. The tall and handsome Gurusewak Mann who shot into limelight with Lara Lappa album entertained the audience with hit numbers Mitr pe aare noor, makhne pe aakhiya chupa ke rakhna and cham cham cham karthi kote pe aajana.

Mika Singh-'Ishq brandy'All the Punjabis from the state thronged the venue. Other than Tejdeep Singh, Ravi Kumar Ohri, chief of Ohri's group of hotels was also there enjoying the musical bonanza. The event was organized by Andhra Pradesh Punjabi Sabha, a fifty year old organisation and was sponsored by Seagram's and Coca-Cola. The proceeds from the show will be utilized for social work.
