How
about guzzling up mugs of beer with hot kebabs or your
choicest snacks, while sailing on the placid waters
of Hussainsagar Lake? Here comes the Bhagamati,
the twin-deck cruise boat to realize all your dreams.
Launched by AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC),
Bhagamati joins company with the popular 120-seater
single-deck cruiser Bhageerathi. Beautifully
and aesthetically designed, the twin-deck cruiser is
named after Bhagamati, the legendary queen of Mohd.
Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad city.
The
twin-deck cruise boat operates from the Lumbini Park
jetty and goes round the Hussainsager Lake twice a day
-one trip in afternoon and one trip in the evening.
The Bhagamati has a well-furnished air-conditioned restaurant
on the main deck, which accommodates 60 persons comfortably.
The sides of the main deck restaurant are fitted with
"see-through" glass windows. This facility
allows you to have a panoramic view of the lake and
its environs tasting the spicy, hot and delectable food
of your choice. The restaurant serves all the 'Dhabha
Food' items along with Chinese and South
Indian cuisine. You can pacify your taste buds by
trying all these snacks along with beer at reasonable
prices.
With
a stage fitted with internationally acclaimed latest
BOSE music system, the upper deck provides you
unlimited enjoyment through a variety of cultural programmes.
In contrast to the main deck the upper deck top is covered
with tarpaulin leaving the sides open. You can relax
here with cool breeze touching your cheeks after having
a sumptuous dinner. Even you can use it as a dance floor.
Bhagamati, would be right venue, if you want to celebrate
a party in very different manner, whether it is just
a meeting of friends or a family party or private get
together. The main deck has audiovisual presentation
facilities and can be turned into a conference hall
in few minutes by just re-adjusting the tables and seats.
Hence, it is ideally suited for Board Meetings, Mini-conferences
and Corporate parties too. No wonder the city based
corporates - Dr. Reddy's, Satyam Computers, CDR Hospitals
- celebrated parties on the Bhagamati, in the very first
week of its launch. Apart from the private parties the
Bhagamati cruise can be hired for film shootings and
TV serial shootings.
Designed
by National Ship Design Centre, Visakhapatnam
costing around Rs. 80 lakhs - Bhagamati was built by
Seacon as per the APTDC needs. The Governor of
Andhra Pradesh Mr. C. Rangarajan, inaugurated
the new cruise boat on 8 August, 2001. Speaking on the
occasion Mr. Rangarajan said, "Bhagamati will
provide an opportunity to the people in the city and
those coming from outside to go around the lake. It
is a well designed cruiser with multi-deck facility
which will add to Hyderabad's attraction as a major
tourist spot." Take a sail on Bhagamati and
check out how far Mr. Rangarajan's words are true!!
