'N' FROLIC ON NEW YEAR |
Preparations
are gearing up in the City with the New Year just
around the corner. A time to party and frolic, most people,
young and old, dress up and make merry. There are several
options available to dance, sing and party. In the twin
cities, the hotels and clubs are all set to accomodate
the partying crowds. So all you have to do is to choose
the venue to party in.
The
New Year's eve affair at Taj Krishna (Ph: 339
2323) will be an Indian one. At Firdaus there
will be a Nawabi durbar, special ghazal dinner and dance
nite. A special midnight buffet with unlimited liquor
of premium brands and multi-cuisine food will be available
besides the dance floor. Taj Banjara (Ph: 339
9999) will host grand gala buffet available at Gardenia.
The other Taj hotels have a host of programmes slated
too. The Taj Residensy (Ph: 339 3939) is
having a bash on December 31 which will feature Jamaican
DJ Tony in the lawns and two Flamingo dancers
flown in from Paris. That a special buffet dinner
on New Year's eve. A six-piece Heartthrob band
will entertain the crowd.
ITC
Kaktiya Sheraton (Ph: 331 0132) offers good
food coupled with music and dance at its restuarants.
The Deccan Pavillion dinner buffet with contemporary
music. At Peshawri, one can have an array of kebabs.
Dum Pukht will offer a table with live ghazals by
Riaz Ahmed. Enjoy a live mridangam, and flute recital
along a table at Dakshin. Mumbai models will walk
on the ramp while dancers from Pune will entertain the
guests at Green Park (Ph: 375 7677).
At Golkonda (Ph: 332 0202), Jewel of
Nizam will present live ghazals while Skylight
offers a midnight buffet. Quality Inn Residency has
three different programmes at Venue, Symphony Hall
and One Flight Down pub.
The
clubs too are not far behind in their preparations. At
Treasure Island listen to the current sensations
Lucky Ali, Suneeta Rao and KK. Secunderabad
Club (Ph: 780 4840) is having Rahul
and troupe from Mumbai with a dinner and dance. Country
Club International (Ph: 681 0004-6), Medchal
is having a musical nite with Sapna Awasthi and Mamata
Kulkarni and fashion show organised by Imran Khan.
The Deccan Club, celebrating its centenary this
year, will have the Blue Mist Band playing classical,
rock, waltz, rock 'n' roll on December 31.
For
those who like to welcome the New Year dawn in its natural
ambience can drop in at Ramoji Film City (Ph:
323 5678, 323 5777). Bollywood fames Kumar Sanu,
Kashmira Shah, famous belly dancer Farita,
mast mast girl Sunidhi Chauhan will keep the rhythms
going till the wee hours of the morning.
Dhola-ri-Dhani (Ph: 772 1586), the ethnic
Rajasthani village on the city outskirts will entertain
the guests with live band and fashion show.
