With an aim to make Cafe Coffee Day, the
third most frequented place after office and home,
Cafe Coffee Day is aggressively expanding in Hyderabad
as part of its nationwide expansion plans. It
has opened its fifth cafe in Hyderabad at MPM
Mall, Abids. Having an open air seating arrangement
for those who like it, the new cafe occupies 675
sq ft carpet area and will have new non-coffee
beverages and desserts on its menu.
"Hyderabad has been a very successful
market for Cafe Coffee Day. After Bangalore, it
is Hyderabad which is having the largest number
of Coffee Day cafes. The outlets are attracting
a lot of coffee lovers and has become a favourite
hangout for many people in the twin cities,"
says Sudipta Mukherjee of Cafe Coffee
Day. Cafe Coffee Day is planning to launch
3 more outlets by the end of March 2002 in the
city.
According
to the latest survey 37% of Coffee Day's customers
constitute those who are in the age group of 20-24
years. Each cafe depending upon its size attracts
between 1000 and 2500 customers daily, between
4 pm and 7 pm. Says Sudipta Mukherjee "Cafe
Coffee Day has become a meeting place for friends
and colleagues on a regular basis. The prices
here are perceived to be reasonable and it is
a place where customers come to rejuvenate themselves
."
Cafe
Coffee Day has revamped its interior design and
changed its logo to project a more youthful and
contemporary look. The cafe at MPM Mall
will be the first cafe to be launched with this
new look, and will have vibrant colours and a
better ambience. The new Coffee Day logo is in
red and green colours with Cafe Coffee Day written
on it. "Red stands for leadership, vitality
and passion and the green colour represents our
coffee plantations. The word 'Cafe' which stands
out in the logo symbolises the prominence of Cafe
Coffee Day which has pioneered the cafe concept
in India and when one thinks of a cafe it has
got to be Cafe Coffee Day," says Sudipta
Mukherjee.
Cafe Coffee Day currently owns and operates 25
cafes in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai,
Mangalore and Pune. It is a part of India's largest
conglomerate named Amalgamated Bean Coffee
Trading Company Ltd. (ABCTL), a 250 crore
ISO 9002 certified company. ABCTL is one of India's
leading exporters of green coffee owning thousands
of acres of coffee plantations.
