LIVE TO
EAT -
It's nearing one in the afternoon. Soft music blends
easily with carefree banter and tingling glasses.
Waiters glide, meandering smoothly around the tables,
serving quietly. Efficiently. Everyone looks happy
and content, even the people waiting for a table!
That's always the scene at The Hub, an upmarket
multi-cuisine restaurant. Little wonder, that a
place that serves hot, sumptuous, well made food
and couples it with good service and classy ambience,
attracts a continuous crowd.
For starters, there's the delicious range of
kababs, of which Murg Malai Kabab
needs special mention. For the main course
you have a choice of Indian food, Chinese and
ethnic Andhra dishes. You must dig into their
biryanis, which are remarkably light and non greasy.
The Hub is one of the few upmarket restaurants
that serve thalis - both veg and non-veg.
As for the Andhra menu, dip into their lip smacking
Prawn Pulusu or Gongura Chicken.
The
menu is also a delight for vegetarians who can
either go for a veg biryani or a veg thali. They'll
even offer to cook veg food - Andhra style especially
for you. To bring your meal to a grand conclusion,
go for the dessert menu and order the licchi
ice cream. It's something that sends goosebumps
down your throat - soft, sweet - the ice cream
and the licchis seem to melt in your mouth. If
you want something more Indian, go for the Kurbani
ka Meetha or Gulab Jamun.
The paintings that adorn the wall (including
one of Vaikuntam's Telangana women), the
soft lighting and the well-laid tables add to
the general atmosphere. And typical of Hyderabadi
hospitality, the quantities are generous. Get
there on time though, for as the afternoon or
evening progresses, getting a table could be a
long wait. The Hub has now started an Express
home delivery service that delivers food in
a few selected areas including Banjara Hills and
Jubilee Hills.
But any day, it's worth the experience to dine
out at the Hub. For, eating here is a feast. For
the stomach as well as the senses.
