of the new eateries in town, Utsav is an
aesthetically done up, centrally air-conditioned
restaurant. The décor is done in pale cream and
gold, with brightly coloured compositions adorning
the walls and elegant metal furnishings. Tables
grouped into semi-private spaces surround an atrium.
Differences in height as well as metal screens with
lights set in candelabras reinforce the impression
of different rooms within the same hall. A gallery
running around the walls also gives a theatre- like
effect. The soft Indian music adds to the effect,
as if one were watching a play. Utsav, the name
suggests a festive occasion. This is a festival
of vegetarian food with North Indian and Chinese
cuisine to tease your taste buds. Tasty soups, mouth-watering
vegetables, soft Nans, Parathas, Kulchas and
Rotis are on offer along with a variety of
rice and sweet dishes. The service is good and the
waiters, courteous and helpful. A meal for two costs
on an average just Rs. 300 - 350. Reasonably priced,
the restaurant is a big hit with the local population.
