 Divi’s
Laboratories Limited was started as a Research Centre
in 1990. It had for its objective development of process
know-how for bulk pharmaceutical chemicals and their intermediates
and transferring of such technology on a turn-key basis
to prospective manufacturers of bulk drugs.
Switching over to the production of Active
Pharmaceutical Ingredients(API), Divi’s
started trial production of Naproxen in July 1995.
The first sales were made in October 1995. It quickly
established as the leading producer of Naproxen in India.
Divi’s also developed total synthesis of Dextromethorphan,
inclusive of two key intermediates, imported by other
manufacturers.
Divi’s also developed processes for advanced intermediates,
used in the manufacture of Iopamidol and Diltiazem,
including total in-house technology for Serinol, a key
intermediate for manufacture of Iopamidol, which is a
monopoly of a couple of European firms. This has enabled
Divis to become globally competitive.
The Multinational companies require new intermediates
for their prospective drugs. With very little literature
to rely upon, Divis R & D personnel developed the
process for some such intermediates in record time and
carried them on to the commercial scale in a couple of
weeks. Divi’s have thus broken new ground in becoming
choice producers of key intermediates for drugs that are
being developed by multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers.
 But
how did it achieve success in such a short period? The
answer lies in Divi's prompt response to the specialized
needs of their customers.The unique design of Divi's facilities
enable them to switch over products very easliy after
thorough cleaning by validated processes. Another thing
that makes it unique is the liberal investment in high
tech analytical instrumentation facility and incessant

Divi’s has received prestigious

Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA),
Indian Chemical Manufacturers Association (ICMA), Federation
of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry
(FAPCCI), All India Manufacturers Organisation (AIMO)
and ISO 9002 award.
