CDR
HOSPITALS
On the cutting edge of patient care |
The
very mention of corporate hospitals in Hyderabad brings
to mind the CDR hospitals. Started in 1990, the
CDR group of hospitals is headed by its CEO, Dayakar
Reddy. Over a span of 10 years, the corporate super-specialty
hospital has branched out into six centres.
From the past 10 years, CDR has grown from a 150-bed centre
to a 1,200-bed hospital and has also received an ISO
9002 certification. The hospital has a highly efficient
team of 650 doctors and 650-700 paramedics.
The CDR hospital has launched a programme called Jeevan
Daatha. The brainchild of Mr Dayakar Reddy, this
programme was inaugurated on April 7, 1999, the World
Health Day.
Jeevan Daatha puts an end to all medico-legal hassles
involved in the case of an accident victim. The hospital
treats the victim immediately and waits for its dues till
the Insurance company settles the victim's claims. So
far 502 accident victims have been treated and 98 per
cent of them have survived due to the timely medi-care
delivery system.
At indiahealnet.com, now a venture of the CDR hospitaland
the first Application Service Provider, a network
of hospitals all over the country is linked online. Through
this medium, the patients are connected to hospitals and
third party payees online, creating a high degree of personalisation,
accountability, transparency, higher employee productivity,
improved quality and reduced costs.
The CDR plans to set up health kiosks in rural
areas. The health kiosk would act as a single window to
dispense a variety of health-related services and become
the first line stop for frontline health and diagnostic
facilities. The patient can tele-consult a doctor or with
a hospital of his / her choice within the consortium of
hospitals. Tele-radiology through e-mailing,
X-ray and CT scan pictures for expert opinion
will be done. The health kiosk will also be used as an
information-disseminating centre and would also include
price shopping for any operation or procedure to treat
an ailment. The health kiosks shall combine utility and
cost-effectiveness in order to benefit the common man.
