 In
this competitive business environment, exhibitions and
trade shows are the best way either to sell or buy a
product. It is because the exhibitions provide an opportunity
for the manufacturer to introduce his product directly
to the target customer. Practical demonstrations and
spot clarifications are some assets of the exhibitions.
On the other hand, the consumer also can compare the
product with various available brands, and decide his
choice. Index2001, an exhibition of industrial
products was one such show held recently at Kamma Sangham
Hall in Ameerpet from 11 July to 14 July, 2001. Conducted
by Silver Streak Event Management Company, the
Index2001 offered a lot for both buyers and sellers.
About 80 manufacturers and dealers of various industrial
products participated in the exhibition. The products
displayed at the exhibition are anlytical equipments,
calibrators, comprssors, measuring instruments, hydraulic
and pneumatic equipment, quality control systems, temperature
controlling devices etc.
 As
it was restricted for industrial products only, Index2001
wittnessed little crowd. Apart from this, the exhibition
was the paradise for small scale manufacturers and entreprenuers.
The stalls displayed new machinaries and devices with
latest versions, which offer the buyer, a chance to
replace the existing old machines with the new ones.
For instance Anuraj & Co., an authorised
dealer for Elgi Pneumatic Compressors exhibited
TS10 compressor, an improved version with 500
litre capacity. "One TS10 compressor saves the
shed space by replacing two 250 litre machine, thus
gives more flexible work environment in congested industrial
sheds," said, Mr. M. Raj Kumar of Anuraj &
Co.
 Gelaco
Technocrats, which deals in level maintainance and
protection devices for electrical motors exhibited some
innovative products. The water level maintainance device
which comes with three sensors is useful for domestic
as well as industiries is very much useful in saving
precious water. The device automatically starts the
motor to pump water into the overhead tank and puts
it off when the tank is filled with required level.
Priced between Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2000, this device is
very useful for industrial units where water and non
conductive fluid levels are to be maintained carefully.
They have also displayed other types of level maintainance
devices based on infrared, microwave technology, which
can be applied in conductive fluid enviroments.
 Along
with the machinary technologies, an industry also needs
many more developments like electrical fittings, computer
devices and other products. Electrical Lines,
which has been strong in electrical fittings exhibited
its Fortune Art collection of imported lumineries
this time. Sukrithik Solar System, a small scale
manufacturer of solar lighting equipment offered its
products at discount rates.

Shivam Industries, TW Business Associates, Zicom Electronics
Security Systems Ltd., etc.
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC),
is one stall that attracted more crowds. People thronged
on to the stall to enquire about the activities of NSIC.
"The NSIC is a government of India enterprise
engaged in conducting training programmes, providing
technical, financial, marketing assitance to the needy
entrepreneurs," explained the employee of the
organisation.
