AIR CURTAINS - FOR SUPERIOR QUALITY |
 Generally
air curtains are used to minimize AC loss by separating
AC and Non AC zones, in centrally air-conditioned
commercial complexes. In the industrial front the
air curtain plays much more vital role by preventing
the entry of dust, insects and flies into the hygienic
zones. Air curtain is nothing but an invisible thick
layer of air formed by a machine. Though, there
are a number of big players in the market, the 'Cortina'
brand air curtain, is regarded as one of the dependable
brands available in India. The 'Cortina' air curtains
are manufactured by Hyderabad based, Klima Kare
Kits, a small-scale industry established by
Mr. Sunny Verghese and his associates in 1994.
After completion of technical degree from Kerala,
in 1984, Mr. Verghese joined a company, which introduced
and pioneered air curtain technology in India. Till
1993, he was engaged in the same industry shifting
one company to other. His passion for technical
improvements, ten years of rich experience in the
manufacturing technology of air curtains motivated
him to start his own manufacturing unit. This is
the way "Klima Kare Kits" took birth in
1994.
 Started
with a meagre capital of 4 lakhs, the present turn
over of the Klima Kare Kits is 400 units per annum,
with technical superiority challenging the top brands
in the market. Mr. Verghese says, "I believe
in quality not in quantity. I sell very few units
but all with superior technology. Our quality audit
starts from the selecting the best quality raw material.
We use only AISI 316 Grade Stainless Steel and manufacture
electrical motors used in air curtains. The top
quality copper wire and varnish used for motor winding,
reduces power consumption thus saving the energy
and the maintenance costs." Surprisingly
the company doesn't have the after sales service
team. "Cortina never fails in its duty;
the product doesn't need the regular servicing,
too. Whether in the industrial sector or commercial
complexes the air curtain works almost all the day.
The main parts that can wear out are conventionally
used sintered bushes. In Cortina Air Curtains, we
replace the conventional bushes with double sealed
self-lubricating bearings. So the question of regular
servicing does not arise. But rarely there would
be breakdowns. In such situations we attend the
call with in 8 hours in the twin cities and with
in 24-48 hours in the rest of the country."
 Generally
the capacity and type of air curtain to be installed
in a particular place will depend on nature of work
and the size of the door, wind velocity and frequency
of the movement of the people through the door.
To cater every section and tackle all the critical
situations, Klima Kare manufactures 10 types and
40 varieties of air curtains. The company not only
supplies air curtains to domestic customers but
also exports to neighbouring countries through various
exporting agencies. Nestle India Ltd (Kit Kat
& Bar One Chocolate  Factory,
Goa), Medi Corp (Hyd), Coca-Cola Bottling Companies,
Cochin International Airport (The first Private
Airport in India) are the few of the reputed clients
of Klima Kare.
Besides air curtains, Klima Kare has been manufacturing
disinfectors (humidifiers) since 1999. The
disinfectors are useful for maintaining hygienic
environment in hospitals, pharmaceutical industries,
poultry and sericulture industry.
