INN RESIDENCY - FIFTH ANNIVERSARY |
 Quality
Inn Residency, the quintessential business hotel,
widely recognised by its famous pub 'One Flight
Down', celebrated its fifth anniversary on April
17, 2001. Owned by the Maheshwari Plaza Resorts
(P) Ltd, The Residency Hotel became fully operational
from 1997. It is the first hotel in Andhra Pradesh
to acquire the ISO 9002 status. The three
star business hotel became a part of the Quality
Inn from November 2001.
 "We
entered into the hospitality business, when we didn't
had much knowledge about it. But with the success
of our first venture, we are now planning to acquire
and build a chain of hotels in all South Indian
cities," said Mr. Rajkumar Malpani,
Managing Director of Maheshwari Plaza Resorts (P)
Ltd.
" We have taken up extensive upgradation
and renovation works in  the
past one year. Madhuban, the vegetarian restaurant
was fully renovated by Mr. Vinod Bachla,
interior designer and renamed as 'Venue'. The coffee
shop has been renovated and renamed as Cafe Capri,
which has a informal Mediterranean feel with
a wide variety of beverages like coffee, tea and
snacks. Our Pub 'One Flight Down' has become
a leading pub in the twin cities and we have recently
added a 120 inch screen and put in place a sound
system which has no equal either in the city or
in Bangalore," explained Mr. Vinod Sharma,
General Manager of Quality Inn Residency.
"All the rooms in the hotel have been refurbished.
25 inch televisions are provided in the junior suits
and Electrolux mini bars are provided in all the
executive club rooms," added Sharma.
 In
tune with the Information Technology era, the hotel
added one more facility - The Business Centre -
on the occasion of its fifth anniversary. The centre
will have Internet facility, secretarial services,
photocopiers, scanners and CD writers to facilitate
the business travellers." With in a month
we are going to provide high speed Internet connectivity
in all rooms making the Quality Inn Residency, a
fully Internet connected hotel," said

Plaza Resorts (P) Ltd.
 As
per programme, Minister for Tourism Mr. E. Peddi
Reddy was supposed to be the chief guest for
the function. But, due to some important official
work he could not turn up.
Quality Inn is the brand owned by Choice Hotels
International, which operates over 4000 hotels
worldwide. With the 74 per cent of average occupancy
ratio, the hotel is planning to open a health club
in the near future.
