in 1978 by Capt. DK Giri, Sharp Detectives
consists of a team of well-trained and qualified
personnel.
Their work involves providing event security, security
for the industries and farm houses, for finding
fake products in the market and for verifying assets
of loan-seekers for banks. Farmhouses, which are
sprouting in the outskirts of the city, are increasingly
taking the help of Sharp Detectives. "With increasing
cases of attacks on the isolated farm houses, trained
guard forces constantly patrol the premises and
ensure safety against theft, incursion, fire etc,"
says SVR Reddy, the Manager of the Sharp Detectives.
For providing security, they often use special devices
like door alarms, metal detectors, PIR (Passive
Infra Red) and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television).
The effectiveness of the devices can be gauged from
the fact that the sound raised by the door alarm
can be heard up to a distance of half a a kilometre
during daytime.
 Together
with providing security, they also take up investigation
of cases pertaining to pre and post marital alliances.
"People take our services, before arranging a
marriage to know about the character of the person
getting married," says SVS Reddy. "This service
has become quiet popular with the people,"
he adds.
What about the risks involved during investigations?
Risks are definitely involved particularly while
shadowing people. And the whole operation is very
tedious since the information collected has to be
checked, rechecked and counterchecked before coming
to any conclusion.
Sharp Detectives also provides armed escorts, gunmen,
counterstrike squads and security dogs. It was awarded
the Best Security Agency Trophy for the year 1989
and 1995. Its Managing Director Capt. DK Giri has
been awarded the Ratna Shiromani Award.
