145 years and still going strong, the All
Saints High School is the right school for the all-round
development of a child.
Established
in 1855 by Rt. Rev. Daniel Murphy, this school
was the learning ground fosr boys from the English and
Anglo Indian families. Since then, it has grown by leaps
and bounds. Today the school has nearly 3000 students
on its rolls, taught by a staff of 100 teachers under
the leadership of rector, Rev. Brother G. Prabhakar
Reddy. Very recently, the school became a co- educational
institution.
The school lays emphasis on co-curricular activities and
has a separate club for literary activities, science,
fine arts, computers, social service, and sports. It is
particularly strong in cricket, and has produced world-class
cricketers like Azharuddin, Venkatapathy Raju,
besides many others who have represented Hyderabad for
the Ranji Trophy. The captain of the Indian volleyball
team, Ravindrakanth Reddy and Leroy D'Souza,
an international badminton player, studied at All Saints.
Sports apart, each of the clubs organise a plethora of
activities like exhibitions, day trips and plant- a-tree
programmes. The school choir won the first prize at
the AIR National Level Competition. The students
and staff have recently released a music album of Hindi
Devotional songs called Aashish, which
was widely appreciated. It received special praise from
singer S.P Balasubramanyam.
The activities of All Saints revolve around a single
motto-'virtue alone ennobles'. Every
year, The All Saints Old Boys Association gives
away many awards including the 'Student of the Year'
award, 'Toppers' Award and an award for the
'Best Environmentalist Student' (co-sponsored by
PEAS-Programme for Environmental Awareness).
Students are given a calendar to keep track of their academic
progress, attendance and punctuality. This includes a
home timetable to help parents and students effectively
plan a students' study time at home.
The schools' endeavour is best summarised in the Rector's
mission- to mould students "to be willing to march
into hell for a heavenly cause".
