The
evenings in Hyderabad have changed drastically over
the years. The city was once labelled as a traditional
place with not much happening. But the metamorphosis
from the traditional to the most happening city was
dramatic what with the musical bands and other pop singers
dashing down to Hyderabad to perform live in front of
the audiences. The five star hotels of the city are
in forefront in transforming the image of Hyderabad.
New pop stars and musical bands are descending to the
star hotels from across the world to perform live in
front of the guests.
ITC Kakatiya Sheraton, the premium five star
hotel has been inviting various pop singers and musical
bands from across the globe to perform in its in-house
restaurants from time to time. Latest in its addition
is Odesos, the Bulgarian musical band which is
currently entertaining the guests in ITC Kakatiya Sheraton
with its delightful music and enjoyable songs.
The
members of the band Vahram Beylerian, Rossi Dimitrova,
Vesselka Kathiliera have come all the way from Bulgaria
to perform in this star hotel. Sizable number of guests
who are gathering at the ITC Kakatiya Sheraton in the
evening are enjoying the songs which range from rock
'n' roll to MTV hits to Bryan Adam songs. The lead singer
of the Odesos band Vahram Beylerian is ecstatic about
singing in Hyderabad. "We have toured all over the
world before coming to Hyderabad. But the response that
we are getting here is tremendous. People are loving
our songs and it's a pleasure for my troupe to sing
for them," says thirty nine year old Vahram who
gave live performances in Norway, Denmark, Sweden,
Finland, Germany and Bahrain before coming
to Hyderabad.
Telling about the Bulgarian music he says, "Bulgarian
music is very specific. There is a specific way to make
the sound while singing. And it is very unusual to hear.
George Harrison the famous singer made the Bulgarian
music very popular. Many people from all over the world
come to Bulgaria to learn this unusual music." Even
the musical instruments of Bulgaria are specific. The
Bulgarian pipe which is quite different from the Scottish
pipe is quite popular in Bulgaria. The pipe is played
with a technique and produces magnificent sound which
is great to hear.
Vahram
who hails from the resort town of Verna is actually
a Romanian but was born and brought up in Bulgaria.
"Verna is a big tourist spot in Bulgaria. People
love music there. I along with my troupe members entertain
the tourists who gather in large numbers along the beach",
says Vahram who entered into the music world on insistence
from his mother. "I do not basically hail from
a musical family. But my grandfather was a good mandolin
player and my sister a good musician," says Vahram.
Vahram joined the music school when he was a kid and
slowly practiced and perfected the music of various
forms.
But performing in India was a dream come true for Vahram.
He was quite fascinated with India and its traditions
since his childhood. "I was excited about India since
my childhood. My father used to have a big library and
I used to read a lot about Indian history and geography.
I read some adventurous stories about Indian elephants
and Indian leaders like Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi,"
says Vahram remembering his childhood days.
Any
vivid memories about Hyderabad? "Hyderbad is a wonderful
place. People are very soft and kind hearted. I visited
Salarjung Museum, Golkonda, Charminar and they are really
great historical places," says Vahram before leaving
to give another sterling performance in the ITC Kakatiya
Sheraton.
