Want
to start an industry in
Hyderabad or in Andhra Pradesh? Already
started but want to improve your management skills or
to know potential markets for your products in India and
abroad? FAPCCI will help you. Take a glimpse on
its activities.
The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce
and Industry popularly refrred to as FAPCCI was started
as Chamber of Commerce in 1917 catering to the needs of
the trade and industry in old Hyderabad State. It was
then known as Hyderabad Deccan Chamber of Commerce,
which later in 1958 became FAPCCI. Promotion and protection
of the interests of trade, commerce and industry in Andhra
Pradesh is the main objective of the FAPCCI. The Federation
is the forum for the trade and industrial community of
the state. It also works like a bridge between the government
and business community.
FAPCCI
believes that improving the management skills will help
to improve the productivity. FAPCCI conducts training
programmes on issues related to Exports, Imports, Central
Excise and Direct taxes. Besides training programmes,
seminars, conferences, FAPCCI disseminates information
about Central and State Government notifications and policies
through weekly and monthly journals to its memebers. The
members of the Federation can also avail the services
of full-time Specialists on Industrial Relations, Central
Excise, Sales Tax, Income Tax and Foreign Trade.
An elected Managing Committee consisting of President,
Vice-President besides 26 members manages the Federation.
The administrative work of the federation is carried out
by a Secretariat consisting of Secretary, joint secretary,
Deputy secretary, and other staff members. The Federation
offers four types of memberships- Associate, Affiliate,
Company, Firm and Individual.
The
continuous efforts of the Federation compelled the government
of India to establish Integrated Air Cargo Complex
at Hyderabad in 1977, which now turned in to a full-fledged
Customs Clearance Centre. Now the state government
is formulating policies pertaining to business and industrial
sectors in consultation with FAPCCI.
