'MAAYA 2001' IN PICTURES

'Maaya 2001', the three-day National Magic Festival bringing together magicians from all over the country, was held recently at the Harihara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad. The festival was jointly organized by the Andhra Pradesh Magic Circle and the Magic Fun School.

The event attracted many magic enthusiasts, admirers and people from all walks of life. The event was really a magic fiesta, which enthralled the young and the old. A series of day-long magic shows, which spread till late in the evening on all days, were performed by various enthusiastic magicians. About 300 magicians from all over the country took part in the festival.

mesmerizing the crowd with his nimble hands - coins vanishing into thin air, rupee notes doubling their denomination and the like - much to the amusement of everyone at the magic show.

Great escape Young magician Mr M V Raghu performed a daring feat at the Gymkhana Grounds on the 2nd day of the festival. The 'Fire Escape' event was really an adventurous one, which sent shivers down the spines of the viewers.
Mr Ali, an eminent magician from the 'Cybercity', Hyderabad, who had a unique style of presenting, was seen entertaining the audience. Mr Ali
Sanjeev Sharma Mr Sanjeev Sharma, who came all the way from Haryana, kept entertaining and amazing with his special tricks like vanishing balls and creating rupee notes from his mouth.
Also, the attracting feature of the festival was the exhibition-cum-sale of magical itinerary and products. Dealers from different parts took part to sell and demonstrate. Magic products on sale
